Constant Freedom Is Here

Freedom Is Here Earlier this month, on the 4th of July, we celebrated freedom in America. On this day every year since 1776, our nation has celebrated its independence from Great Britain. This national sovereignty, in turn, ensures our very own personal freedom which allows us to roam unencumbered and to practice whatever religion we wish to, if any at all. This freedom requires a certain amount of discipline from us as people too though, as well as accountability and duty as a sign of our gratitude for it.

While we can abuse that freedom much as we can abuse the national freedom afforded us by taking it for granted, we are all better served by being grateful and accountable for it. Reviewing our lives and measuring whether we are putting our time on this earth – and in the most free and wealthy country – to good use or not is a way we can do that. That is the purpose of this month-end message on our blog. We should account for ourselves and our lives ongoingly. Every day we should be able to recognize whether what we did or didn’t do moved the action in our lives and the lives of others forward. But, every month we should account for our goals and callings accordingly too. We should set aside an hour at least to review what we have accomplished (much as businesses do) and to plan what we can do next to grow and improve not just in our goals, deeds and accomplishments but also in our humanity, in our connection to God, each other, ourselves and more.

Let us be determined to be faithful and accountable to the gift of freedom and grace we’ve been given not just in this country but in our personhood. God Bless You & Yours,
